Symptom
Some field labels are not translated correctly in Ad Hoc Reports and are displayed in the default language or with unexpected values, while other fields are translated as expected. The issue occurs for only a subset of fields, even though the user is logged in using a supported language.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting
Reproducing the Issue
- Log in to the system using a language other than English (United States).
- Create or open an Ad Hoc Report.
- Observe that some field labels remain in English while others are translated into the selected language.
Cause
The affected field labels are not translated for the language used by the user across all XML templates in which the fields are defined.
Ad Hoc Reports retrieve field labels from all relevant XML templates. If a translation is missing from any template, including inactive templates, the system may display the field label in its default language (typically English).
Resolution
Ensure that translations are maintained consistently across all XML templates in which the affected fields are defined, including inactive templates.
- Identify all XML templates containing the affected field.
- Verify that the field label has a translation for the user's login language in each template.
- Add any missing translations.
- Save and upload the updated XML templates if applicable.
Note:
For consistent translations in Ad Hoc Reports, all occurrences of a field across active and inactive XML templates should contain the appropriate language translations.
