2948001 - Error 691 when DUMP TRANSACTION WITH NO_LOG is run - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • When the DUMP TRANSACTION WITH NO_LOG command is executed, the following messages are reported in the ASE error log:

Error: 691, Severity: 20, State: 1
Encountered invalid logical page '0' while accessing database 'testdb1' (5), object 'syslogs' (8), index 'syslogs' (0), partition 'syslogs_8' (8). This is an internal system error. Please contact SAP Technical Support.

  • It resported shortly after Error 1105 is reported for the same database:

Error: 1105, Severity: 17, State: 4
Can't allocate space for object 'syslogs' in database 'testdb1' because 'logsegment' segment is full/has no free extents. If you ran out of space in syslogs, dump the transaction log. Otherwise, use ALTER DATABASE to increase the size of the segment.
