2948347 - Talent Search Basic Information Fields 'Key Position' and 'Talent Pool' Return Unexpected Results

When using either the Key Position or Talent Pool fields from the Basic Information section of the Talent Search, no data is returned even if users may be the incumbent of a Critical Position or nominated to a Talent Pool.

SAP SuccessFactors Succession

1. Navigate to Home dropdown > Succession
2. Select the Talent Search tab
3. In the Basic Information section, select Key Position and/or Talent Pool
4. Select values from the dropdown
5. Results do not match selected criteria

Note: The dropdown values by default are Yes/No. If there is no dropdown and it is a Free Text box, a picklist has not been associated to these fields.

The fields Key Position and Talent Pool from the Basic Information section are Standard Elements from the Succession Data Model and are not related to MDF Position Criticality or Succession MDF Talent Pools.

The Standard Elements Key Position and Talent Pool are default fields configured in the Succession Data Model. These fields have no relation to MDF Position Criticality or Succession MDF Talent Pools other than sharing a similar name.

If you are not using these fields and do not want them to be visible in the Succession Talent Search, there are two options available:

• Option 1: Remove access via Role Based Permissions: Implementing and Managing Succession - Configuring Talent Search Fields
• Option 2: Rename the fields through Manage Business Configuration or by reaching out to your implementation partner: Implementing and Managing Business Configuration (BCUI) - HRIS Elements and Fields in Manage Business Configuration

Note: Currently MDF Position Criticality is not searchable within the Succession Talent Search. If you want to search on Succession MDF Talent Pools, select Advanced information > Talent Pool:
