2948597 - Maintained catalog doesn't open due to technical error

Symptom

Catalog is maintained but cannot opened from Fiori Apps e.g. "Create Purchase Requisition", "Create Purchase Requisition - Professional" etc. The following message is written: "Sorry, a technical error has occurred. Please try again later. : Bad Request"

Checking the Gateway log, the additional error is shown: "The Data Services Request could not be understood due to malformed syntax".
