Symptom
You notice a warning message when uploading a bank statement file: 'Bank statement ID AAA does not exist or has not been posted yet' (AAA means the Bank Statement ID).
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to the Liquidity Management work center.
- Go to the Inbound Files view.
- Click New > Inbound File.
- Enter required data, open bank statement file and click Start File Upload.
- Warning message appears: 'Bank statement ID AAA does not exist or has not been posted yet'.
Another warning message might be thrown as well, depending on the number of bank statements missing:
'A great number of bank statements missing; check bank statement numbering'
Cause
These warning messages are raised as part of consistency checks in the system and they highlight to the user the bank statement IDs that have not yet been used or are not yet associated to 'posted' bank statements. The bank statement ID is specified in the uploaded file and then once uploaded, the system checks to see what IDs were last used. The warning messages highlight the IDs (within the range) that have not been used.
Resolution
Unless the file upload and bank statement creation fails, then these warnings can be ignored but would not be removed as they are serve to maintain consistency.
