2949033 - How to test a Microsoft SQL Server OLE DB connection

Symptom

  • Using reports based on OLE DB Connections and drivers
  • Connectivity with the reports shows database connection errors

  1. Create a file called TestConnection.udl
  2. Double-click the file to launch the UDL dialog.
  3. In the Provider tab, select the OLE DB Driver in use by the reporting application
  4. In the Connection tab enter the connection details for your database
  5. Click Test Connection
