Symptom

While migrating inspection plans to an SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition system via migration object 'QM- Inspection Plan', error message CV701: 'External number assignment is not possible for group XXX' occurs.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Cause

The value of field 'Group' in migration template is out of scope of inspection plan's external number range.

Resolution

In a standard SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition system, the external number ranges for inspection plans are:

  • 50000000 ~ 59999999
  • AAAAAAAA ~ ZZZZZZZZ

Make sure the value of field 'Group' entered in migration template is in the scope of the external number range mentioned above.
