2950122 - How variables in the prompt screen sort

This document explains how the variables are sorted in the prompt/variable screen.

SAP Analysis for Microsoft Office

1. The variables in the variable screen of Analysis Office are sorted according to the query design. This can be checked in the BW Modeling Tool in the properties of the query -> General -> Variables Order.

2. If the "Merge Variables" option is used in the workbook, then the merged variables are always at the top of the variable screen.

Two queries' variable order are shown in below screenshots. They both have variable "Material":

When the variables are not merged, the prompt screen is like below:

After merging the variables, variable "Material" is at the top of the prompt screen:
