2950499 - Drill level lost when adding a filter to a chart in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

When adding a filter to a chart, the drill level of the chart is reset to one.

This is a limitation of the product.

The hierarchy level that shows on a widget is relative to the filter that has been added.  So when a filter is added, the drill level is reset to level 1 because the drill level is now at level 1 relative to the new filter which has been added.
