2952254 - Tax Number Error for Spanish NIF

Symptom

You are trying to add a tax number for foreign national in Spain.

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Customer work center.
  2. Search and Open an account.
  3. Go to the Tax Number facet.
  4. Add new Tax Number
  5. Select the NIF-Number Type 
  6. Enter the Tax Number: : Y1111112Y
  7. Observe: Error 'Tax number is invalid'

Cause

NIF numbers start with a numeric digit. 1st to 8th position in a NIF number is a numeric digit and the last 9th one is the check digit, a letter.
In the NIF tax number that we are trying to enter, the first position is 'Y', hence the system throws an error.
