2953022 - sybmigrate fails due to JZ002: Password property '' too long. Maximum length is 30. - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • When reusing a sample Migration Tool resource file described in Utility Guide, sybmigrate in noninteractive mode may fail to connect to the target ASE due to the following error.

$ sybmigrate -r samplemigrate.rs -m setup
  Opened file '<SAP ASE installation directory>/init/logs/sybmigrate0729.001' to be used as the migration log.
  Migration Tool invoked with debug level 2.
  Processing resource file 'samplemigrate.rs'...
  Processing resource file 'samplemigrate.rs' complete.
  ERROR|Fail to connect to '<target ASE name>'.  Please check if server is running and server name is correct.
