Is there a way to change the assignment type of a program assigned to the user?

Once the program has been assigned to the user, it's not possible to change its assignment type.

If the program's assignment type needs to be changed, that can be done at the program's record > Settings section. However, such change is only valid to users assigned to the program afterwards. This means that, to propagate such change users already assigned to the program, it will be necessary to remove the program from them and then make a new program assignment.

Alternatively, to suggest a different system behavior, it would be possible to have an enhancement request created for it (as per KBA 2090228), where the Learning Product Management team can further review and assess the requested functionality to be considered in a future release.
