Symptom

Outbound delivery has been created with reference to a sales order. When opening up the document flow, the overall status of the standard order is 'Completed' even though the subsequent delivery is not posted.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a sales order.
  2. Create an outbound delivery with reference to this order.
  3. Open up the document flow.
  4. Find that the overall status of the sales order is 'Completed' even though the subsequent delivery is not posted.

Resolution

The overall status of a sales order will be set as 'Completed' if all its items are referenced by a subsequent outbound delivery. It has nothing to do with the status of the subsequent documents.
