2956275 - How to specify default Fiori Launchpad theme in S/4HANA Cloud or SAP_UI 7.55+?

• How to specify the default theme for Fiori Launchpad on S/4HANA Cloud or SAP_UI 7.55 and higher?
• After the S/4HANA Cloud 2008 update, the default theme reverted to SAP Quartz (sap_fiori_3).

Method of specifying the default Fiori theme has changed with the S/4HANA Cloud 2008 and SAP_UI 7.55 release.

Specifying themes via transactions /UI2/NWBC_CFG_SAP or /UI2/NWBC_CFG_CUST is no longer valid.

Since S/4HANA Cloud 2008 (2020/August) and SAP_UI 7.55 release, the default Fiori Launchpad theme should be specified by changing the parameter THEMING_DEFAULT_THEME.

*Please note that themes are case sensitive, so should be specified with the same case as shown in transaction /UI5/THEME_TOOL. For problems saving the setting in upper or mixed case, please apply SAP Note 3142618, then remove and add again the THEMING_DEFAULT_THEME setting.
