2957361 - Validation Error: Users cannot be registered into a closed class

When an administrator tries to add a user to a closed class, a validation error appears:

• "Users cannot be registered into a closed class."

"Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental."

SAP SuccessFactors Learning

1. Log into HCM > navigate to Learning Administration >
2. At Learning Activities > Classes >
3. Search for the required class and open it >
4. At 'Actions', click on 'Close' >
5. Fill out the required details >
6. After closing the class, within still in the same class record >
7. Navigate to the 'Registrations' tab >
8. Click 'Add Users' >
9. Search for the users to be added >
10. Select 'Add' for the users to be added >
11. Hit 'Add' >
12. The error happens.

Currently, this is an expected behavior.

Closed classes indicates that the attendance and completion were recorded. When a class is closed, administrators cannot register new participants in it nor learners can self-register.

Alternatively, to have a different system behavior, it would be possible to have an enhancement request created for it (as per KBA 2090228), where the Learning Product Management team can further review and assess the requested functionality to be considered in a future release.

WORKAROUND: If in any case a user needs to have completion on the class, the admin can record a manual completion by:

1. Going to Learning Administration >
2. Manage User Learning >
3. Add Learning History for Multiple Courses >
4. Select class on 'What kind of learning do you want to add to history?' option >
5. Search for the class ID and search for the user to be recorded >
6. Complete the process by adding the completion status/grade >
7. Submit.
