2957503 - System restriction regarding Import Financial Plan Data App

It's explained in the help document for App Import Financial Plan Data:

"Note that this option can only be performed for files up to a limited size. If the size of the file that you've submitted for import is large, the system switches to Background Processing. However, you can change the Processing Type back to Online Processing."

Questions regarding this:

1. It's not clear what is the size limit.
2. Would it be possible to revert the process type back to Online Processing though the file size to be uploaded is more than system accepted?

Import plan data with App Import Financial Plan Data.

From CE2008, the background processing for importing plan data is available.

Answers to the questions:

1. It's not clear what is the size limit.

    The system will choose background processing per default for files with more than 200K records.
    There could be a limitation of the POST request on system level. (ICM Profile Parameter "icm/HTTP/max_request_size_KB" for Internet Communication Manager (ICM), which is governing maximum request size) The default setting is 102400 KB = 100 MB. With default setting importing of any file bigger that 100 MB would not be possible.

2. Would it be possible to revert the process type back to Online Processing though the file size to be uploaded is more than system accepted?
    You can switch back to online processing. You will get a timeout by the system, if the file is too large to be processed in online mode. We cannot predict this with certainty, as the processing time depends on the type of data being uploaded and how many derivations and validations need to be run.
