Symptom
You have created a Sales Order containing the Product ABC (ABC represent the Product ID) which has enough on-hand quantity to fulfill the demand. However, when you check the availability (by clicking the respective button) the ATP indicator is displayed in yellow, showing late delivery.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to the work centre Sales Orders.
- Select the view Sales Orders.
- Find the respective Sales Order.
- Open it and go to the Items tab.
- Click the button Check Availability.
Result: Line Item 10 has an yellow ATP indicator: Late delivery; earliest delivery: XX.XX.XX (XX.XX.XX is the exact date in the future).
Cause
In the Product master data you have maintained an availability check scope: Stock. This means that the available stock is considered as available supply for the product availability check.
There is a Goods Issue Processing Time also maintained for the product ABC. For instance, it is set to 48:00:00. Now, you think that the system will consider 2 calendar days. However, this is not the case, as here the Site calendar and operating hours are taken into consideration.
If the respective Site has operating hours with Start Time being maintained as 8:00 and End Time 17:00 (for example), this means 8 operating hours per day.
If you divide 48 (Goods Issue Processing Time) to 8 (Operating hours) this equals 6 working days. This 6 working days will be considered from the maintained Requested Date for the ATP to determine the earliest delivery for the product.
Resolution
This is the expected behaviour as per maintained product's master data.
You could review the maintained Goods Issue Processing Time for the product ABC.
