2958186 - Error on Changing the Custom Status for Opportunity

You are trying to change the custom status of the opportunity, but you see this error: "Custom status is enabled for Opportunity. Please maintain Custom status".

SAP Cloud for Customer

1. Go to Sales workcenter
2. Go to Opportunities view
3. Select show all and find for opportunity ABC (ABC represents the name of the opportunity)
4. Open the Opportunity ABC
5. Select the field Custom Status and change the value (as an example, do it from Open to In process)
6. Select Save

You will see the afore mentioned error and also notice that the value (In Process, in this case) saved in no longer available.

You have not maintained the Custom Status Code, against the status.

For custom statuses to work effectively, you also status code needs to be maintained in the opportunities activity

1. Go to Business Configuration workcenter
2. Go to Overview
3. Select show All Configuration elements and find for Opportunities activity
4. Open the Activity
5. Select Maintain Custom Status

Here you can see that status In Process (as per the example), does not have a Custom Status Code. Once it is maintained and saved, the error will not occur.
