"Determination Rule Not Valid"

Environment

SAP Business Bydesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Business Configuration work center.
  2. Go to Overview activity
  3. Find and Select activity Migration of Employee Data - <Country>
  4. Select Migrate Time and Labor Management Data Using the Migration Tool
  5. Mark row of your import file
  6. Select Execute Migration >Execute Migration Step By Step
  7. At step Simulate Import, the following error occurs for at least one record: "Determination rule not valid"

Cause

The issue might be caused by the fact that the migration file contains time and labor management data related to a country different than specified in the activity Migration of Employee Data - <Country>. Or data related to another country has been maintained in the Value Conversion step.

Resolution

You need to ensure that the migration file contains time and labor management data related to the country specified in the activity Migration of Employee Data - <Country>.

For example, when importing data via the activity Migration of Employee Data - Austria,  the system only allows you to migrate a file with e.g. time accounts that are set up in the activity Time Accounts - AT. Also during Value Conversion step only target values for Austria respectively AT are allowed).
