2960764 - Setting a Date Range Time Filter for Effective-Dated schemas - People Analytics

Symptom

  • Cannot set a Date Range for the Time prompt for a Story Report built with Job Information or Effective-Dated objects
  • After defining a Date Range filter for a specific Date field, the Story component (Table or Chart) data does not change

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors People Analytics

Resolution

The main thing to note is to set the Time Filter in Query Designer to Date Range as well. Having it as 'As of Date' fixes this Time prompt in the Story and you will be unable to set a Date Range.

Once set, the As of Date Time filter prompt will be removed from Story Designer and then you can set a Date Range Filter for Effective As of Date without the result being limited by the As of effective date filter.

  1. Edit the Story and select Edit Datasource > Job Information
  2. Select the object and click the Filter icon.  Change the Time Filter to Date Range by clicking Remove Filter and selecting Date Range After
  3. Define the Date Range Scope., e.g. Jan 1, 1920 to Dec 31 2020
  4. Click Finish
  5. In the Story Designer, define the Filter for and Effective Start Date Jan 1, 2010-Aug 21,2020

Result: OK, records shown are effective within Date Range
