    • Analytics & Reporting (Ad Hoc, YouCalc, ORD)
      • People Analytics (Analytics Cloud for SF)
        • Query Designer - Filter, Calculated Column, Params

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Report Center and Edit an existing Report-Story
  2. Try to Edit the Datasource

Result: the following messages are displayed in red
"Error loading live data connection. please contact your administrator."
"Cannot read property 'data' of undefined."

  3. Go back to Report Center and try to create a new Story
Result: the query designer is shown but you get the message "Error loading live data connection. please contact your administrator."

Cause

User does not have a Role in SAC as compared to a user that is working or there may be another user who share the same email.

Resolution

There is a known issue in which the user's SAC Role is getting removed.  A fix is already being worked on.

For now, there are two possible resolutions to workaround this problem:

You can use the Check Tool for validation:

Type Check Tool in Tool Search > select Reporting > Configuration >  Availability of user record for People Analytics > Click Run > enter user ID or name
Result: 1 issue found - "The Embedded_BI_Content_Admin role hasn't been assigned to the selected user", or user does not exist. Please see attached screenshot.

If  role is missing, run Check Tool > Reporting > Configuration > "User is correctly configured for Stories in People Analytics."
This will fix the issue with the missing role.

Note: Run a simple ad hoc report from Employee Profile to see if the user shares the same email address with another user, thus preventing the profile to be synced correctly to SAC via IPS.

Second possible solution in case the sync has not worked:
1. Open the Developer Tools logs on More tools on the browser options.
2. Go to network tab and try creating a new Story report until the error appears.
3. After that, search for the red message call dataintegration?action[...]
4. Go to the Headers tab on the middle of the screen and get the request URL (it will be the first thing below General)
5. Save this url and provide on a ticket to the support team so the engineering team can request to engineering.
6. It is also required to provide the Person UUID of the user in question that is facing the issue. See KBA for 2655941 for reference.
If the sync is successful, the user record in SAC will be updated with the correct role.
