In candidate profile, resume or cover letter field, candidates can upload a file without file extension.

SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management

1. Go to candidate profile
2. Upload a file without extension to resume or cover letter field
3. The file is uploaded without any errors

This is an expected behavior. The system identifies the file type from the content and not just by the extension.

Resume and Cover Letter fields in candidate profile only supports .doc, .docx, .gif, .jpeg, .jpg, .pdf and .txt. file. If the candidate uploads a file with these file types, though the file doesn't have extension, the file can still be uploaded without any issues.

However, if the candidate tries to upload a file with other file types like .html, .exe, .ppt, etc., the system will throw out an error saying that the file type is not supported even the file doesn't have extension.

The uploaded file will be scanned for Anti-Virus. If the file contains malicious payload, the upload will be blocked.
