2965967 - Feature request to disallow a query to run when estimate tempdb space is larger than the size of tempdb - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • The conserve_tempdb_space optimization criteria does not work in a scenario when all plans required large tempdb space. it is possible to have a query use all the tempdb space and filled the tempdb even with the conserve_tempdb_space is set to 'on'.
  • Use resource governor for tempdb_space can terminate the connection during execution. 
  • This feature request is to disallow such query to run when the estimate tempdb space is larger than the size of tempdb during optimization.
