2966589 - Cannot Generate Business Configuration View for Custom Business Configuration Object

Symptom

While generating Business Configuration View (BCView) for custom Business Configuration Object (BCO), nothing happens.

Environment

  • SAP Cloud for Customer
  • SAP Business ByDesign
  • SAP Cloud Applications Studio

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log in to Cloud Applications Studio.
  2. Open your solution. 
  3. Right click your custom BCO.
  4. Click Generate business configuration view.
  5. This BCView isn't generated.

Cause

The BCView wizard is not launched because the length of the BCO name is more than 30 characters. The back end value only holds 30 character and so when the Create is called, this mismatch means that the correct BCO cannot be found.

Resolution

Please kindly delete the BCO and create another one with shorter length to resolve the issue.
