2966686 - HANA DB error - invalid schema name: SYS_DATABASES

Symptom

  • The error below occurs when setting up a HANA MDC Remote connection as per Note 2280051 SAP HANA MDC service connection - but the error is not exclusive to this. 

    Request information for multi database.
    SAP DBTech JDBC: [362] (at 73): invalid schema name: SYS_DATABASE: line 1 col 74 (at pos 73)

  • In this case, the error occurred during the set up of a remote connection to an MDC database, but same/similar error could occur in any circumstance (see Cause section below)
