2971015 - "ceUnionPop (RULE_GROUPS):" error for RAW/BLOB fields in a HANA Transformation

Symptom

The execution of a DTP in HANA mode fails with the following type of errors:

For RAW fields:
Could not execute 'SELECT...
SAP DBTech JDBC: [2048]: column store error: search table error: [2620] executor: plan operation failed;ceUnionPop (RULE_GROUPS): Failed to append column <FIELDNAME>; current column type = FragmentVectorDictColumn<raw> other column type =ConstColumn<string>

For RSTR(BLOB) fields:
Could not execute 'SELECT...
SAP DBTech JDBC: [2048]: column store error: search table error: [2620] executor: plan operation failed;ceUnionPop (RULE_GROUPS): Failed to append column <FIELDNAME>; current column type = VectorColumn<blob> other column type =ConstColumn<string>
