2972892 - Substr() function not pushing down to database - Data Services

Symptom

  • A job that has a substr() function loading to a datetime column will fail with the following error.
    Error " <SQLFetchScroll>: <[IBM][CLI Driver][DB2/AIX64] SQL0180N The syntax of the string representation of a datetime value is incorrect. SQLSTATE=22007 >." 
  • The optimized SQL will show an "Insert into" statement instead of "Select" statestament, meaning it is not being pushed down.
  • Worked successfully in earlier versions of Data Services
  • Found SAPnote 2521441 - Function substr() is not pushed down in DB2, but it is no longer valid
