2975601 - Error appears "Restricted Serial Numbers are not allowed for product " when trying to create New Inbound Delivery from Customer Return Notification

You are trying to create New Return Inbound Delivery from Customer Return Notification KLM, Error appears.*KLM refers  to Return Notification id,*DEF refers to Serial Number, GHI refers to Product id.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Third-Party Logistics Work Center 
2. Navigate to Inbound Delivery Notifications View
3. Search for KLM
4. Click New Inbound Delivery
5. Maintain parameters like External Delivery Id, External Delivery Item id 
6. For Serial Number DEF, Check Restricted 
7. Error appears

Restricted Serial Numbers are not allowed for product GHI  

As Serial Number profile maintained for Product GHI is optional, Hence this error appears.

Note: Error appears even when Serial Number is changed to Mandatory on Transfer to /from Customers / Suppliers/Sites except Mandatory on all Logistics and Production Process.

You will  have to switch serial number profile to "Mandatory on all Logistics and Production process"  for the product to make the  quantity as restricted for the new transaction.
