2976132 - Email output to multiple recipients in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Symptom

It is not possible to send an email to all the active email addresses maintained for the business partner.
Despite multiple email addresses maintained in the business partner master data, the system is only allowing to use one of them for output.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Cause

Retrieving more than one email address from business partner master data is currently not supported. It heavily depends on the business context, which email address should be used when. For example, for one business process (e.g. payment run) the second email address should be used, for another one it should not be used, or for a third one the email should be sent to all email addresses maintained. However, the email addresses in master data have no context information. The necessary business context for output can only be defined in the Output Parameter Determination app.

Please review Chapter 4.2.5 Determining Email Recipients of the Output Management Set-Up Instructions

Currently, the email addresses can be maintained in two places in case several email addresses should be used:

Maintain one email address (default email address) in the business partner master data and
Maintain additional email addresses directly in the step Email Recipient in the Output Parameter Determination app.
With an excel import/export, also a large number of email addresses can be maintained in the Output Parameter Determination app.

Note: The business application sets the default recipient email (from master or document data) as the TO address. In Output Parameter Determination, the Email Recipient step overrides this default address.
