2976245 - Unable to Find Supplier Name field in Data Source Supplier Details

Symptom

The text for "Supplier" in data source "Supplier Details" is derived from Supplier Formatted Name, which contains a concatenation of name and additional name. You have a requirement to have the field that only shows the supplier name but unable to find field "Supplier Name" in the data source.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Business Analytics work center
  2. Select Design Data Sources view
  3. Search for Data Source Supplier Details (ID: BPSPPB)
  4. Select Documentation button

Unable to find Supplier Name Characteristic

Resolution

To get the name only, you could add the field by pressing ADAPT.

  1. Go to Business Analytics work center
  2. Select Design Data Sources view
  3. Search for Data Source Supplier Details (ID: BPSPPB)
  4. Select Adapt button
  5. Select Field "Name" (ES Name: Organisation/Name/FirstLineName) and select Add
