With the b2011 release, it is now possible to add candidates to talent pools from within the inline resume viewer.

Resolution
In the candidate application profile for a candidate, select Resume to view the inline resume viewer, then choose Add to Talent Pool from the Actions menu.
The candidate gets successfully added to the talent pool.
