2976868 - Assignment of Profit Center to Postings in SAP Business ByDesign

Symptom

You want to know if it is possible to assign Profit center to Postings where Profit Center is not derived.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Business Analytics Work center.
  2. Go to the Design Reports view.
  3. Show All Reports and Find Report Trial Balance.
  4. Enter the Selection Criteria.

You could see against some of the GL Accounts the Profit Center is unassigned.

You want to assign a Profit Center to these transactions.

Cause

You can drill down to the Journal Entries which contribute to the Ending Balance and you could see that the Profit Center is not assigned even to the Journal Entry Items.

Resolution

You cannot assign a Profit Center to Postings in Business ByDesign by a method.You can maintain a Default Profit Center against Various Subledgers and if the Profit Center is not derived,the Default Profit Center will be considered during Postings.
