2976868 - Assignment of Profit Center to Postings in SAP Business ByDesign

This KBA explains if it is possible to assign profit center to postings where profit center is not derived.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Business Analytics Work center.
2. Go to the Design Reports view.
3. Show All Reports and find report Trial Balance.
4. Enter the Selection Criteria and execute the report.

Notice that against some of the G/L Accounts, the Profit Center is unassigned.

The goal is to assign Profit Center to these transactions.

By drilling down to the journal entries which contribute to the Ending Balance it can be seen that the Profit Center is not assigned even to the Journal Entry Items.

Profit Center cannot be assigned to postings in SAP Business ByDesign by a method. However, a Default Profit Center can be maintained against various Subledgers and if the Profit Center is not derived, the Default Profit Center will be considered during postings.
