2977674 - Party Role Determination ''Forbid Manual Changes'' Flag Does not Work for Account Party Role

Symptom

You have flagged 'Forbid Manual Changes' in the business configuration for accounts. You are still able to delete the account in the opportunity within the contract.

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Contract work center.
  2. Open a contract.
  3. Go to the Opportunity tab.
  4. Create New Opportunity.
  5. Observe: The party role from preceding document can be deleted despite the 'Forbid Manual Changes' flag.

Cause

The party role has been entered manually (check party determination method code via Admin > General Settings > Check Party Determination). This information has been copied to the follow-up opportunity. This party role has not been determined automatically. Therefore the account remains changeable.

Resolution

This is the expected system behavior.

If you configure a party role with 'Forbid Manual Changes', it is recommended to restrict the party role from the selection using code list restrictions. Party roles that are not automatically determined can still be deleted.
