Resolution

1.   What will happen for Customers using Legacy Goal Management? Does SAP still support them on their issues?

Legacy Goal Management is in "End of Maintenance" with the 1H 2024 release which means SAP does not fix bugs or deliver patches for Legacy Goal Management. SAP will continue to answer your How To questions via Customer Community Performance & Goals Forum.

We strongly encourage you to adopt Latest Goal Management for your business scenario. Manually upgrading to Latest Goal Management cannot be undone. You cannot revert back to an older version. Please ensure you've reviewed Implementing and Managing Goal Management - Working with the Latest Goal Management prior to the upgrade. You can also review Upgrading to Latest Goal Management – Cycle Planning & Preparedness – Best Practice Approach for tips on starting the process.

All customers still using Legacy Goal Management as of March 31, 2025 will be upgraded automatically with no opt-out. For the most up-to-date information, you can review Goal Management Opt-Out in 1H 2024 & Universal Planned around March 31st 2025.

2.   Do customers have the option to be excluded from the Latest Goal Management upgrade in 1H 2024?

This enhancement is removed from the 2405 Production release for all customers. The enhancement remains in the Preview environment. The opt-out upgrade that was planned for Production will undergo further refinement and optimization.

Customers with Development Goals enabled that have not migrated from Job Description Manager (JDM) to Talent Intelligence Hub (with Growth Portfolio enabled) will be excluded from the automatic upgrade in the 1H 2024 Preview release and the universal push on March 31, 2025. Latest Development Goal plans that rely on adding competencies and/or skills MUST have either Job Profile Builder (JPB) or Talent Intelligence Hub (TIH) enabled.

Customers who meet the exclusion conditions are highly encouraged to upgrade from JDM to TIH for managing competencies. Once you've upgraded to TIH, you can then upgrade from Legacy Goal Management to Latest Goal Management which includes both Performance Goals and Development Goals.

3. Can I revert/rollback the Latest Goal Management if I manually upgrade?

Customers who manually upgrade to Latest Goal Management cannot rollback or revert. We will be not auto-push customers to Latest Goal Management in the 1H 2024 Production release.
