Symptom
- Can images hosted on iContent be used in sections of Learning Administration such as:
- Image URL on Item Record
- Admin Introduction Panel
- Item Cover Pages
- Assessments
- When using an iContent hosted image in Learning Administration, administrators are getting logged out/session invalidated when accessing the section or record that has the iContent hosted image or URL
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Learning
Reproducing the Issue
- Create any item in new admin UI.
- Ensure the image URL is pointing to a credential-accessed (entitled) secure site like iContent >
- Try to access the item via Learning administration and incur symptoms.
Cause
iContent uses an entitlement user based authentication and not admin based authentication so images on iContent will not load or will log out the administrators out of the application.
Resolution
iContent hosted images are not supported and cause issues.
If the iContent URL has been placed in a section such as on the Item Record and cannot be removed due to the administrator being logged out when accessing the record, please use the Item Connector to change the field.
If the iContent URL has been placed on the Admin Introduction Panel, please use below workaround. You can set your browser to not load images. This should prevent the unauthorized redirect to the iContent Server. Both Chrome and Edge have Site settings to allow images to show images. This can be temporarily disabled. Once you have done this, perform the following actions:
- Go to System Administration >
- Configuration >
- Global Application Settings >
- Introduction Panel ID >
- Change the Introduction Panel ID to DEFAULT_LEARNING_ADMINISTRATION_INTRO >
- Click Apply Changes.
What are the alternatives to hosting images?
- Host images on your own servers that are publicly accessible.
- Use SuccessFactors BizX Image Hosting as described in 2157471.
