2979916 - Signal 11 in comnb_i4tobit() when using sum function on bit datatype - SAP ASE

Symptom

While issuing a select query with sum aggregate function on a column with the bit datatype, ASE received an "infected with signal 11" error in the module comnb_i4tobit:

  • Client process unexpectedly disconnected.
  • ASE errorlog contains a current process (0x33001a) infected with signal 11 (SIGSEGV) error

    Current Process is running on Engine 0
    server is using elf symbols for stack decoding (125189 symbols found)
    Address 0x0x000000000246feeb (comnb_i4tobit+0x1b), siginfo (code, address) = (1, 0x(nil))
  • The stack trace included the following modules:
    kisignal
    comnb_i4tobit
    relop__retrocast_cnst
    relop__retrocast
    relop__sqlt
    ResRelOp
    ResRelOpProcess
