2979926 - Country/Region field is showing twice on the Quick Apply Page - Recruiting Management

Symptom

When Quick apply feature is enabled on the instance, Country/Region field is showing twice from the application page and the candidates need to populate these fields as these are mandatory fields before they send the application.

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to External Career site and try to apply to a job.
  2. When you click the Apply button, a simplified form will appear.
  3. You will see that the Country/Region of Residence is showing twice before you submit the application form.

Cause

There is a mismatch on the values of the Country/Region picklist (Picklist ID "country") and the values of the Country/Region list from the hard coded table.

Resolution

In order to display only one single field for Country/Region when Quick Apply is enabled, it is required to have the Country/Region picklist (Picklist ID "country") matching the system's hard-coded Country/Region list which is listed in this KBA: 2220688 - Candidate Country/Region field behavior and Known Issues - Recruiting Management.

The Country/Region picklist (Picklist ID "country") must be an exact match of this list, and the count of the active and inactive values must match the list as well.

For example, there are 251 hard-coded country/region values as of 1H 2022 release.

If the total number of items in the picklist is not 251 (that means, the active and inactive values of the picklist), then it will show 2 country/region fields (one will refer to the job application, and the second defines the Data Privacy Consent Statement).

If the picklist has over 251 values already (including the inactive values), then it's not possible to delete values from the picklist, and it is expected that the field will be duplicated in the Quick Apply screen, to ensure that the Data Privacy Consent Statement will be correctly displayed.

NOTE:

When using the Custom order type of sorting, the the sort value of the first picklist must start at 0 and not 1.
