2981020 - DTR Console connect with https fails: unable to find valid certification path to requested target

Symptom

When trying to use the DTR Console "connect" command with -https flag, you get the following error:

Could not send request PROPFIND /dtr/ in 3 attempts
javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target
sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target
