Symptom
You have created a Sales Order with an expense item and when opening the report "Sales Order Volume Extended", you expected to see the Employee Responsible field maintained.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
In this scenario, we will be using Account ABC and Sales Order XYZ.
(ABC represents the ID of the Account and XYZ represents the ID of the Sales Order).
- Go to the Sales Orders work center.
- Select the Lists view.
- Open the Sales Order Volume Extended report.
- Remove Employee Responsible value.
- Enter the Account ABC from the Sales Order XYZ.
- Run the report.
The Employee Responsible field has a # (hashtag) instead of the expected value.
Cause
For expense items, an employee responsible is determined from the actual expenses that is recorded and invoiced to the customer.
The same behavior is also applied to Sales Quote Item report.
Resolution
This is expected system behavior as reports use the party information on the item node level.
An alternative option may be to check the SAP Customer Influence Platform to submit an idea: https://influence.sap.com/SAPByDesign
