2981909 - Error FAA_MD149 while changing Cost center in Manage Fixed Assets App - SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Symptom

Upon changing (or adding) the cost center of an asset, an error message is received：
FAA_MD149 "Interval and bal.sheet-relev. acct ass. obj. can't be changed before &1".

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Enter the Manage Fixed Assets app or Manage Legacy Assets app.
  2. Enter the company and asset number. 
  3. Change Cost Center.
  4. Hit save and the error is raised. 

Cause

Postings already exist on the Asset. These are stored in the database which must be consistent. However changing the Cost center will cause inconsistency.

Resolution

Create a new time interval in App 'Manage Fixed Assets' under tab Time-Dependent Data.

The beginning date of the new interval must be after your latest posting on the Asset. It can be found under tab Journal Entries in the valuation view.
