2983074 - Position Code exceeds that maximum precision of Integer error

Symptom

  • When creating or copying a new position, an error is thrown on save
  • Rule execution failed with error “[Error: cannot coerce Long to Integer since the value exceeds that maximum precision of Integer.] 

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Position Management

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Manage Positions
  2. Create a new position
  3. Submit information and click save
  4. Error is thrown

Cause

The position external code exceeds the Integer limits which is 2147483647

Resolution

In Manage Data > Sequence, re-configure the sequence used for position external code generation to remain within Integer limits
