Custom fields with enumerated values for validation start off with a None Selected option that is fixed width, but selecting any other option afterwards makes the size of the dropdown box shrink or stretch based on the character width of the value

SuccessFactors Compensation Management

1. With your template opened in Compensation Home, select Plan Setup > Design Worksheet > Design Worksheet
2. Choose your field, and next to the option Validation, Select Set enumerated values
3. Fill out Value range
4. Click Add another value
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until you have generated the list for your dropdown
6. Launch a worksheet
7. At first, the option None Selected will be all fixed width
8. Choosing any of your options will change the size of the dropdown box 

This is expected behavior as of b2011. This was introduced as an enhancement to prevent extremely lengthy custom values from getting truncated. However, the enhancement only adjusts width for custom entries, not for the standard default value of None Selected

The only known workaround right now is to create a custom default value, which will adjust to the same width as all other custom enumerated values. To perform this change:

1. Go to Compensation Home
2. Select your template
3. Click Plan Setup > Design Worksheet > Design Worksheet
4. Select your field with the custom enumerated value validation
5. Click on Add another value
6. Choose a proper custom value, such as N/A or 0 (NOTE: default values still adhere to field types; an amount or money type field will not accept text as a default value, and will instead default to None Selected. For money and amount, enter a number such as 0 for the default value)
7. Click on the dropdown for Default Value and choose your newly-created entry
8. Hit Save
9. Relaunch
