Symptom

  • A check from the indexserver trace or the monitoring view M_DELTA_MERGE_STATISTICS reveals an out of memory event during a table delta merge:

"column store error: [2489] Out of memory during delta merge; table = SID::schema:table_name (t 329), exception = exception 1000002: Allocation failed ; $size$=13708173312; $name$=Transient; $type$=pool; $inuse_count$=0; $allocated_size$=0; $failure_type$=G |"

  • Symptoms as per KBA 3148864 may be present also.
