2984530 - Error "Variables need Input" when consuming a BW query in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

When using a BW query in SAP Analytics Cloud that has mandatory variables you get the error "Variables need Input".  However, no prompt screen is given to enter a value for the variables.

1. Using SAC, connect to a BW query that has mandatory variables

This is a limitation of the product

The modelling tool for SAC does not currently open the variable dialog when there are mandatory variables. The only workaround is to set a default value for the variable.
