Error "Financial accounting is closed on DD.MM.YYYY. Change not permitted; close screen. Accounting-relevant data would also be changed. Check whether you can enter time confirmation without accounting attributes." occurs when releasing time entries in MM1, which is the next month of MM.

 SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Time Administration work center.
2. Select Employees view.
3. Search for the employee and click Edit.
4. Navigate to Employee Times tab.
5. Select time entry on DD1.MM1.YYYY (e.g.: 01.09.2020) and select Actions > Activate.
6. Click Save.

Then error occurs.

You have a time entry on the DD.MM.YYYY (e.g.: 31.08.2020) that is in pending cancellation. While saving the system is also picking this one up and trying to process it.

As long as this entry is not processed you will keep getting the financial period error.

To process this time entry you need to open up the process control for the company of the employee. Afterwards you can release this cancellation and save it.
