2985448 - Can ASE write audit information to a disk file OS logs(Unix) event logs(Windows)

Symptom

  • Define Audit table globally:
    1. To the audit database
    2. To the OS syslog/eventlogs or file

Via policy implementation - the target for the audit events could be chosen on a group level (e.g. security relevant events like login, passwd changes etc., or data relevant events like create database etc.) or even on an individual event basis (e.g. every drop database, failed login, etc.).

  • Messages which are defined to be sent to syslog/file, could be stored in a new monitoring/system proxy table which would allow it to raise alerts immediately on occurrence within the applications.
