2988244 - Error "New case for conflict resolution" Occurs When Scoping Sell Project-Based Products and Services

When you scope "Sell Project-Based Products and Services" in Business Configuration, below error occurs

New case for conflict resolution

 SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Business Configuration work center.
2. Select Implementation Projects view.
3. Select Edit Project Scope.
4. Navigate to Scoping step.
5. Expand Sales, Product and Service Portfolio for Sales.
6. Select Sell Project-Based Products and Services.
7. Click Next.

Then error New case for conflict resolution occurs.

Due to a constraint, with scoping "Sell Project-Based Products and Services", it is necessary that also Business Package "Project Planning and Execution" comes into scope. This, in turn requires a conscious decision by you in the area of Resource Management, which the system unfortunately cannot make on its own.

 To resolve the issue, please proceed as follows:

1. Go to Business Configuration work center.
2. Select Implementation Projects view.
3. Select Edit Project Scope.
4. Navigate to Scoping step.
5. For now do not scope "Sell Project-Based Products and Services", but instead check "Project Planning and Execution" under "Project Management".
6. Navigate to Questions step.
7. Under "Project Management"-"Project Planning and Execution", select "Project Resource Management", and on the right hand side, group "Resource Management", you need to decide whether to select question "Do you want to use Resource Availability Search based on  Commitment Quantity of the employee from Projects Team and Staffing?" If necessary, check this question.
8. Select Next to finish the changes.

Once this is saved, please go to scoping again and now you should be able to check "Sell Project-Based Products and Services".
