2991109 - Extension Field Added to the Opportunity History Data Source Shows Only Current Value

You created an extension field and added this field to the 'Opportunity History [CODOPPHHB]' data source. Then, you changed the values of the extension field in the Opportunities work center view and you would like to see the historical values in the data source. However, when you access the data source you can observe that just the current value is displayed instead of historical values.

SAP Cloud for Customer

1. Go to Sales work center.
2. Go to Opportunities work center view.
3. Open any Opportunity (e.g. ABC).
4. Click to Edit.
5. Change an extension field value.
6. Go to Business Analytics work center.
7. Go to Design Data Sources work center view.
8. Search for the 'Opportunity History' data source.
9. Click to Preview.
10. Filter by 'ABC' Opportunity ID.

You see that the extension field brings just current values instead of historical values. 

The 'Opportunity History [CODOPPHHB]' data source supports only the historical version of opportunity standard attributes. Those historical versions of opportunity extension attributes are not supported. For opportunity extension attributes the data source 'Opportunity History [CODOPPHHB]' will always show the current value of the extension attribute.

This is the system designed behavior for the extension fields extended to the 'Opportunity History [CODOPPHHB]' data source.
