2991833 - Error 'Change not permitted; identified stock type is not 03 or 04'

System throws following error while removing the value from identified stock type field of product ABC  -

Change not permitted; identified stock type is not 03 or 04

Note: ABC represents product ID

1. Go To Product Portfolio work center
2. Go To Products View -> By Materials -> Enter ID ABC -> Edit -> Navigate to General Tab -> Remove the value from field Identified Stock  Type

AT this point, system throws error 'Change not permitted; identified stock type is not 03 or 04'

In the material master data of product ABC, go to Valuation tab, and you can see that the Valuation Level Type has been maintained as Product Specification.

As long as it is of this type, the Identified Stock type cannot be changed and hence the error.

This is the expected system behavior. User will have to change the Valuation Level Type in case product do not have identified stock.
