2991996 - Error While Adding Logistics Use 'Cannot select project usage type; other usage type already exists'

Symptom

While adding additional Logistics Use 'Project Stock' to the Logistics Area XYZ which already has other Logistics Use system throws error message -'Cannot select project usage type; other usage type already exists'.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Supply Chain Design Master Data work center.
  2. Choose Locations view.
  3. Search for Site/Location.
  4. Edit Layout -> Select Logistics Area ID XYZ(XYZ - represents the Logistics area with other Logistics Use already). 
  5. Enter additional Logistics Use  as Project Stock.

Cause

Logistics area with logistics use Project Stock only contains the stock that is assigned/allocated to project.

Hence, you will not be able to add Project Stock as additional Logistics Use for the Logistics Area XYZ which already has a different Logistics Use.

Resolution

Consider selecting a different Logistics Area other than Logistics Area XYZ.
